When to Go

Winter famously drives cold-weather U.S. residents to Florida, making its high season mid-December though mid-April. This is when you’ll find the least humidity and best overall weather.

To avoid the biggest crowds plus get the sunny weather you want, the best time to go is spring or fall.

Travel Tips
  • The sun is hottest between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. – remember to stay hydrated and apply sunscreen.
  • Renting a car is recommended. In Orlando, getting around by car is convenient thanks to the many surrounding highways. Headed for Disney? Shuttles, boats and monorails service the theme parks.
  • If you’re visiting a theme park: buy tickets in advance, plan to arrive early in the morning (the quietest time of day), and bring sunscreen, comfortable shoes and water. And, pace yourself; take breaks throughout the day.
  • Be prepared for mini bursts of rain, even if rain is not in the forecast. Have a poncho or umbrella handy.
