Overview

Perfect for small-group gatherings, this inviting and traditionally picturesque restored villa and its cottage feature an abundant verdant manicured garden that reflects the changing colors of the Umbrian countryside throughout the year. Dulfa is also well situated for enjoying the plentiful cultural treasures of Perugia, which was formerly an Etruscan city and it is now a multiple-university town and capital city of Umbria – and of Umbria itself, the region known as “the green heart of Italy,” and the birthplace of both St. Francis of Assisi and St. Valentine (yes, that St. Valentine!).

Dulfa offers a scenic and tranquil environment, replete with gathering spaces, and surrounded by rivers, fishing lakes, a waterfall, castles, hiking paths, and access to a nearby 18-hole golf course, the estate’s restaurant (about a 10-min drive), a small village with shops (10 min), and the famed towns of Perugia (25 min) and Assisi (40 min), among many others. The estate offers a wide variety of activities, from yoga classes and massage treatments, to hunting (wild boar, in autumn), and trail hiking. Florence and Rome are each within about a 2-hr drive.

Accommodations

Main Villa

On the ground floor, guests will find a spacious living room with fireplace, and ample seating that includes a sofa, armchairs, and ottomans. Adjacent is the dining room with its dining table and wrought iron chandelier. Both rooms exude a classic relaxed elegance, never being pretentious. The use of rattan furniture, leather accessories, soft upholstery, and rich colorful pattern fabric, make the interior warm and inviting. All the rooms have doors leading to an outdoor dining and sitting area furnished with a dining table, a parasol, armchairs and a sofa. A guest bathroom completes this floor.

Cottage

Guests can enjoy the open-plan space that combines a living with a dining area, as well as a kitchen area with stove and refrigerator.

Outdoors

The outdoor area is a fenced and landscaped 10,000 square meter garden and includes a private heated pool, a pool deck furnished with a parasol, sunbeds and chairs, a pergola with dining table with panoramic views and several other nooks spread throughout the property, offering guests plenty of enjoyable moments. A BBQ is also available.
